COMMUNITY SERVICE

  • Clinic Vols Volunteer school nurse at Knoxville elementary school: student nurse who assisted sick children, clean simple wound, be there if needed someone to talk to
  • Organized a team and raised $300 for the American Cancer Society Walk for Life in 2007: theme was Olympic Countries, bought food and organized activity for people to participate in, attending meetings to plan for event, designated shifts for volunteers
  • Camp Good News Counselor – Cabin leader and counselor for a private summer camp: lead cabin of girls, was there to counsel them, be religious example
  • Chefs auction for the March of Dimes volunteer: set up auction items, gave bids to participants, help with clean-up
  • Participated in the March for Babies walk: supported sorority philanthropy by walking and helping set-up, tear-down, and raise money
  • NEAT (nutrition education and activity training): program that teaches inter-city school aged children about nutrition at their local Recreational center 2009-2010

AWARDS AND MEMBERSHIPS

  • Marshall, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, UT Knoxville: planned and organized entire initiation for sorority, attended weekly chapter council meetings, planned activities for initiation week
  • Vice President – Humes Hall Residence Association, UT Knoxville: helped plan activities for freshman in dorm, helped run programs and gather supplies for them, gave advice at weekly meeting to better dorm life
  • Academic Advisory Board Nutrition major representative for the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences: meet with Dean to help give insight to what is happening in major from student prospective, volunteer at school events, be creative in new ideas to help better college
  • KDDA (Knoxville Dietetic District Association)- member 2010-2011: attend semester meetings and learn about advances in the nutrition field
  • Provisional Member Alpha Epsilon Delta Medical Honors Society, UT Knoxville: trial freshman member
